About
AWE India Network
The AWE India Network is a collaborative platform dedicated to Advancing Women Enterprises, across the country and was launched on 14 March 2024 in New Delhi. Inspired by the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision for women as equal partners in a self-reliant India, the network aims to create a supportive ecosystem that brings together diverse stakeholders to foster the growth and success of women-led businesses.
Rationale
India’s economic landscape presents a stark gender disparity – women contribute only 18% to the GDP, and female labour force participation remains low. A majority of women in non-agricultural jobs work in the informal economy, limiting opportunities for growth and development. According to Bain & Company, 20% of India’s enterprises are women-owned, yet these businesses often face systemic challenges.

To provide women entrepreneurs across India with the resources, support, and opportunities they need to start, grow, and sustain successful businesses Through capacity building, collaboration, and advocacy, AWE India fosters a supportive ecosystem that drives gender equality and economic growth.
